YES, it is pretty true! To make it much simpler and smarter to track all your internet activities, the online search giant has unveiled new tool - called My Activity. Now users will get more control over the vast pool of search data.

Last year in June, Google introduced a dedicated My Account - a cohesive dashboard that lets user safeguard your data; protect your privacy and data. However, to watch your history, you had to go to other places.

Well, now you do not need to go anywhere, the reason being that Google has now become super smart with its newest tool - My Activity. It shows you nearly everything you have done on Google ever, including every search you have made, the videos you have watched, music you enjoyed, the apps you have used on Google products and services.

It is oblivious that Google has the largest amounts of data on what its users search regularly, and such collected data generally help advertisers in targeting users' interest for their products and services. And luckily, now all users can get access to see and control their activities on apps and in browsers. For example, searching for 'Angelina Jolie' will show you all of her movie videos you may have watched on YouTube, as well as any news you read or social media page you visit that mention the recognized rapper.

Best of all, users can filter their search by date and Google product to see exact time the page was visited along with the browser and device it was browsed. Moreover, users can easily edit or delete specific items or entire topics as well as change their settings and decide what data have tied to their Google account. It can store information from third party websites, too.

ZDNet's Liam Tung mentioned that if you use Chrome to watch Netflix, through Google's new tool you will be presented with a list of what movie or TV show you watched.

One good thing for the privacy-conscious user is that they can edit their ads settings in the Privacy Checkup. They can even suspend or pause web and application activity tracking through My Activity. On the other hand, the tool comes with ads control feature, including an opt-in approach and the facility to block ads. For the privacy-conscious users, it is fine to stay opted out.

Ultimately, this activity control tool makes your way easier wherever you look for driving directions in Maps or find something important in Search. With it, users get control on:

  • Web & App Activity
  • YouTube Search History
  • YouTube Watch History
  • Voice & Audio Activity
  • Location History
  • Device Information

Google users will not automatically be accessed to this cool tool. You have to sign in to the Google account you want to inspect to see your history or to manage your ads settings. Check out Google’s new My Activity here.
