Data Visualization – An Enhanced Way Adopted By Brands in Social Campaigns

Data Visualization: What does mean by this term? It is discussed widely, but I personally feel that not many of us aware about the meaning of this term yet. At first, I will clarify the definition and then consider how the latest brands are using
branding strategy in social campaigns. The term itself says that it is a visualization of data. Information is displayed in a clear and comprehensive way through visual presentations. It then depends on us how we analyze the data and present it.

When do we use it?

Many of the companies deal with loads of raw data and try to analyze and interpret it using ordinary tools like tables and spreadsheets. The figures sometimes make it difficult for analysts to interpret and this will leads to making poor business decisions. This is where visualization of data comes in; large amounts of data can be displayed by using scorecards, charts, maps, graphs, dashboards and other available visual elements. This helps to analysts to make some intelligent decisions in business and get successful results.. And like always it has been said:

    “A picture just explains it all”.

Some of the famous brands that have used data visualization in social campaigns:

  • A famous brand called “Tableau” has come up with a popular tool that supports a wide variety of charts, graphs and maps. It can be obtained freely and the charts which made using this tool can be added to your web pages easily. They have beautiful galleries displaying each of the tools and all of these have been created by Tableau itself.
  • “Infogram” is another brand which enables us to create both charts and diagrams online. It allows you to use the free version for a limited time and then use the paid options which allow us to use advance features like 200 plus maps, sharing them individually and using icons to represent the figures. It comes with user friendly interfaces and some well designed charts.
  • “Echelon Insights” another company brought this feature “The year in news” in collaboration with Twitter to the market. This feature displays the most talked about news stories of the year on Twitter. It also displays the total number of tweets done on the most discussed news story.
  • The “US Wind map” has been a real example of intuitive design. Here the speed of wind is represented by lines that move in various directions along with the lines moving. This displays the speed and direction in which the winds are moving across the country. All you have to do is to select the region that you want to see.

From the above information you can note how helpful those tools can be. These brands use those tools for data visualization which help for various companies to make important and wise decisions. When correct decisions are made, huge amounts of data are analyzed properly and efficiently. This helps a company to manage their data appropriately.
